Attorney Grimaldi’s practice is exclusively focused on criminal defense in state and federal court, and related misconduct proceedings in educational and professional settings. He has vast experience representing clients accused of crimes ranging from murder to tax fraud, rape to money laundering, motor vehicle homicide to larceny, and drug trafficking to racketeering. No matter the charge or how challenging the situation may feel to his clients, Attorney Grimaldi has the experience, ability, and desire to obtain the absolute best possible result for his clients.
One measure of Attorney Grimaldi’s success is the number and variety of his victories in court. He has won “not guilty” verdicts in federal, superior, district, and municipal court. He has won acquittals in felony cases punishable by mandatory prison sentences — including life in prison —and he has won acquittals in misdemeanor cases with a likely sentence of probation. He has won dismissals of numerous cases before they even went to trial. He has successfully moved to suppress or “throw out” evidence in many cases, including drugs, firearms, computer evidence, cell phone evidence, witness identifications, and his clients’ own statements to police. He has also helped clients avoid suspensions and expulsions during school and university disciplinary hearings.
Successful criminal defense lawyers must be able to use everything available to them to articulate a better, more compelling, more plausible account of what transpired than the prosecution. They must know the evidence better than the other side. They must know how to read, write, think, and argue better than the other side. Attorney Grimaldi thrives on the challenge of turning the government’s case into his client’s victory.
